This Class 8 No.3816 Diesel Shunter badge is traditionally made, hand finished and enamelled. The Class 8 shunters were used by BR for most general shunting and were a familar sight at most stations and freight yards. 996 shunters were buit accross the BR Works from Derby to Horwich between 1952-1962. The configuration of the loco is 0-6-0 with a 350 hp (261 kW) power output.
