Class 89 Electric Locomotive Badge

This Class 89 Electric Locomotive badge is traditionally made, hand finished and enamelled. Only one class 89 was built as a protoype electric locomotive used on test-trains on the East and West Coast Main Lines. The locomotive was built in 1986 by British Rail Engineering Limited at the Crewe Works . The configuration of the loco is Co-Co and was fitted with advanced power systems that developed over 6,000 bhp (4,500 kW).
