Duchess of Hamilton Streamlined Locomotive Badge

This streamlined Duchess of Hamilton Locomotive badge is traditionally made, hand finished and enamelled. Duchess of Hamilton No.6229 is an LMS Princess Coronation Class designed by William Stanier and was built at the LMS Crewe Works in 1938. This Class of loco were the most powerful passenger steam locomotives ever to be built for the LMS network and this loco was one of the streamlined versions (later removed in 1944). The configuration of the loco is 4-6-2 with a LMS: 7P BR: 8P power class. Duchess of Hamilton is on display at the National Railway Museum and was restreamlined in 2009.
