This Empress of Britain Class 44 Diesel-Electric Locomotive badge is traditionally made, hand finished and enamelled. The locomotive was built by the English Electric Vulcan Foundry in 1959 to haul express passenger trains, however, once the Class 45 and 46 diesels came into service thh Class 44's were assigned to freight duties. The configuration of the loco is Co-Co with a 2,300 bhp (1,715 kW) power output. Empress of Britain was scrapped by BREL Swidon Works in 1983.
