This Scafel Pike Class 44 Diesel-Electric Locomotive badge is traditionally made, hand finished and enamelled. The locomotive was built by British Railways? Derby Works between 1959 and 1960 to haul express passenger trains, however, once the Class 45 and 46 diesels came into service teh Class 44's were assigned to freight duties. The configuration of the loco is Co-Co with a 2,300 bhp (1,715 kW) power output. Scafel Pike was scrapped by BREL Derby Works in 1977.
