This Stephenson's "Rocket" Locomotive Locomotive badge is traditionally made, hand finished and enamelled. Stephenson's "Rocket" was designed and built by Robert Stephenson in 1829. The loco won the Rainhill Trials held by the Liverpool & Manchester Railway in 1829 to choose the best design to power the railway and was the most advanced locomotive of its day. The configuration of the loco is 0-2-2 . Rocket is preserved at theScience Museum, London.
